For as long as she can remember, sports have always been an integral part of her academic and personal career. During her post-secondary education, Vanessa worked as a student trainer with SFU Sport Medicine and was a member of the Strength and Conditioning team for NCAA athletes. Since 2017, she has worked as a certified personal trainer, training individuals and teams such as national level synchronized swimmers as well as the SFU Lacrosse Academy. Vanessa has also played sports competitively, representing Canada at the U21 World Cup Netball Qualifiers and has experience coaching at the BC Winter Games and for various high school, Zone and Provincial U16 & U18 netball teams.

In her spare time you will often find Vanessa snowboarding on one of the local mountains, exploring the outdoors, playing ultimate, mountain biking or climbing the walls of Squamish.
